Chris Hermann, Founder and CEO

Chris Hermann, PhD is the Founder and CEO of Clean Hands – Safe Hands (CHSH). He has over 14 years of experience working in medical technology design and healthcare. His background, as a physician and engineer, has given him a unique perspective to bridge the gap between engineering and medicine. Chris Hermann, PhD is the Founder and CEO of Clean Hands – Safe Hands (CHSH). He has over 14 years of experience working in medical technology design and healthcare. His background, as a physician and engineer, has given him a unique perspective to bridge the gap between engineering and medicine. His in depth technical and clinical knowledge have allowed him to lead multidisciplinary teams to address complex clinical problems. These teams have created several medical devices, biologic therapies, and electronic sensors that are used clinically or are in clinical trials.

Dr. Hermann started and led the multi-institution research collaboration that developed the core technology utilized in the CHSH system. The research team included investigators from Children’s Healthcare, Georgia Tech, Emory School of Medicine, the GA Tech Research Institute, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Over the last 10 years the research team has secured and executed more than eight state and federal research grants totaling over $3.2M. Unlike most clinical research grants, these projects were heavily focused on rapid iteration engineering development and completely driven by the real world needs of clinicians. Dr. Hermann is the lead inventor for the patents related to the CHSH technology and serves as the connection between the clinicians and engineers.

Outside of his clinical experience, Dr. Hermann has over ten years’ experience in a variety of leadership development training, experiential education, and team building roles. These include running and facilitating high ropes/challenge courses, climbing leadership development programs, and high adventure sailing programs. He has a PhD in Bioengineering, a MS in Mechanical Engineering, a BS in Biomedical Engineering with High Honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a MD candidate at Emory School of Medicine. He is married with two children.

Jeremy Jass, CTO

Jeremy Jass, Chief Technology Officer, has over 12 years designing and writing custom hardware and firmware applications across multiple industries. Prior to joining CHSH, Jeremy was an application engineering where he designed and built high frequency data analytics platforms for Score Atlanta. In this role, he designed and deployed connected device networks for applications in highly regulated industries. Jeremy Jass, Chief Technology Officer, has over 12 years designing and writing custom hardware and firmware applications across multiple industries. Prior to joining CHSH, Jeremy was an application engineering where he designed and built high frequency data analytics platforms for Score Atlanta. In this role, he designed and deployed connected device networks for applications in highly regulated industries.

Jeremy was the lead engineering and senior project manager for Engineered Systems for Manufacturing (ESM). In this role, Jeremy was responsible for the design, manufacturing, installation, and service off all low voltage electronic systems for the Georgia corrections facilities. He oversaw a team of up to 15 engineers and was the senior engineer responsible for all statewide operations and design.

Jeremy was one of the Founders of Clean Hands Safe Hands, and is ultimately responsible for the design, programming, and deployment of the entire system. Jeremy oversees and manages a team of 6 engineers and developers to guide the overall technology strategy and development efforts. He is specifically focused on the development of all hardware and firmware capabilities as well as how they integrate in with the entire system application. Jeremy has a BS in Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Berkley Baker, VP of Sales and Business Development

Berkley Baker is the vice-president of sales and business development. He has worked in healthcare sales and business development since 1998. Prior to Clean Hands Safe Hands he served as the managing partner of OpX Consulting, a firm that focused exclusively on the implementation and optimization of high-investment medical service line. Berkley Baker is the vice-president of sales and business development. He has worked in healthcare sales and business development since 1998. Prior to Clean Hands Safe Hands he served as the managing partner of OpX Consulting, a firm that focused exclusively on the implementation and optimization of high-investment medical service line. While serving as the managing partner for OpX Consulting, Berkley completed his doctorate in business at Georgia State University. For his dissertation, he conducted an empirical analysis of the role of industry structure on customer value in the implementation of capital-intensive medical innovations or disruptive medical technologies. Specific to early stage healthcare sales, Berkley served as an Area Sales Manager for Intuitive Surgery. Berkley grew the Georgia robotic surgery market from 2 programs in 2006 to over 26 programs by 2010. This represented a robotic procedural increase from approximately 300 procedures to over 3000 annual procedures in less than 4 years; to include the creation of one of the busiest hospital based robotic surgery training facilities in the world. In this role, Berkley streamlined the sales strategy to reduce the sales cycle, increase the ASP, generate adoption and expand utilization, culminating in over $45M in revenue.

Berkley also worked as a sales representative for Ethicon Endo-Surgery of Johnson & Johnson, where his execution of effective sales and marketing strategies earned him recognition for four consecutive years in the top 10% of revenue results. He conducted sales training activities throughout the United States and in China. Berkley honorably served as an officer in the United States Army. He holds a Doctorate in Business from Robinson College of Business of Georgia State University, an MBA from Goizueta Business School of Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He is married with three children.

Lance Rigdon, VP of DevOps & Analytics

He has a diverse and extensive background which includes client server, n-tier web, and database application development using technologies from IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Sun and various Open Source technologies. During his professional career, he has worked on all aspects of the project lifecycle in both technical and management capacities. I have a proven history of successfully leveraging new technologies to deliver scalable, efficient, and effective solutions.

For the last two years, Lance Rigdon has been responsible for “DevOps” and Data Analytics for Clean Hands Safe Hands. Prior to making the decision to return to more “hands on” activities in the world of startups he was the senior director of product delivery for Manheim, the digital technology component of Manheim, the world’s leading provider of vehicle remarketing services. Through its desktop and mobile websites, smartphone apps and live auction platform, Manheim Digital uses state-of-the-art technology to allow automotive dealers and other qualified sellers to securely connect with buyers anytime and anywhere.

Rigdon led the product delivery teams that build and maintain Manheim’s portfolio of digital properties, including the industry’s largest combined wholesale vehicle marketplace—Manheim.com, OVE.com, and Simulcast. Rigdon’s responsibilities required him to align Manheim’s business strategy with its product and technology roadmaps while managing over 90 employees, 100 consultants, and a $55+ million budget.

Before joining Manheim, Rigdon was Director of Enterprise Architecture at AutoTrader.com, where he developed systems and strategies that supported the company’s business requirements and long-term goals. He also worked as a consultant specializing in Microsoft, Oracle and Unix technologies.

Stacy Sutton, VP of Marketing

Stacy Sutton is Vice President of Marketing. In this role, she leads both strategy and execution for all marketing efforts as well as early-stage lead nurturing. With an emphasis on measurable lead generation and converting leads to opportunities, Stacy manages digital advertising, media relations, email marketing, social media and search engine optimization. Stacy Sutton is Vice President of Marketing. In this role, she leads both strategy and execution for all marketing efforts as well as early-stage lead nurturing. With an emphasis on measurable lead generation and converting leads to opportunities, Stacy manages digital advertising, media relations, email marketing, social media and search engine optimization. She also does content creation, writing most of the company’s blog posts, bylined articles, case studies, collateral, website copy and award entries. She works closes with sales to align the company’s efforts and maximize the use of sales enablement software and CRM data.

Stacy has been passionate about digital marketing since 1995, when she began building websites at the Kilgannon advertising agency. She then moved into search engine optimization and pay-per-click advertising before launching her own search marketing agency, Big Drum (fka Prominent Placement), in 2001. Later, Big Drum became an early pioneer in the conversion rate optimization space. Stacy sold Big Drum to Nebo in 2015 and served as both Senior Director of Conversion and Brand Ambassador for that agency before joining Clean Hands – Safe Hands in 2017.

The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) named Stacy “Search Engine Marketer of the Year” in 2012, and she won “Search Marketer of the Year (Female)” in Search Engine Land’s first international competition in 2015. Stacy was one of the first members of the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) and served as President of SEMPO Atlanta.

Stacy earned degrees from U.C. Berkeley (Haas School, B.S., Business Administration, emphasizing Marketing) and the U. of Southern California (Annenberg School, M.A., Communications Management). She has two adult children.
