By Clean Hands - Safe Hands

ATLANTA, GA – April 17, 2019 – Clean Hands – Safe Hands (CHSH) announced today that its Founder and CEO, Dr. Chris Hermann, will be featured in an Advisor Live® webinar hosted by Premier® in honor of World Hand Hygiene Day.

The webinar, titled “Technology and Culture: Critical Elements of a Comprehensive Hand Hygiene Program,” will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm Eastern (10:00 am Pacific). Joining Dr. Hermann will be Dr. Janet Glowicz, Infection Preventionist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The webinar will cover the following topics:

It’s no surprise that healthcare settings contain many germs, whether from patients and their families you encounter or surfaces you touch. Everyone knows that improving hand hygiene is the most important factor in reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), in fact The CDC says healthcare providers may need to wash their hands up to 100 times per 12 hour shift*.

Simply put, hand hygiene can save lives. Join us for an Advisor Live® presentation to hear from experts as they discuss data showing how an increase in hand hygiene has led to over a 60% reduction in HAIs in ten hospitals using technology to remind clinicians to clean their hands.

Viewers will learn about:

  • Competency based training for hand hygiene
  • New technology for monitoring nurse rounding, shift fatigue, contact and exposure tracing, workflow inefficiencies, and even how often patients in isolation are visited as compared to normal patients
  • Where to find additional hand hygiene resources

The webinar is free and open to the public. For more information or to register, interested parties can visit http://offers.premierinc.com/WBN_AL_CS_Hand-Hygiene_2019_05_02_LandingPage.html.

About Clean Hands – Safe Hands

Clean Hands – Safe Hands (CHSH) helps reduce HAIs by inspiring a personal-best approach to hand hygiene. Headquartered in Atlanta, the company began through a research consortium of the CDC, Emory University, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Georgia Tech Research Institute. Knowing that the primary accepted method of direct observation is ineffectual in reducing HAIs, physicians and technologists worked together to develop an innovative solution to the real-world problem. The CHSH technology supports a unique, systematic process that drives behavioral change and delivers value to hospitals all along the journey to HAI reduction and prevention.
